- Dr. Jennifer Smith, ND
Dr. Jennifer L. Smith, ND, or Dr. Jen as patients fondly call her, is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor certified in both Environmental and Swiss Biological Medicine and the Founder of SilverTree Wellness Center. She’s also one of a select few physicians in the world certified in the Shoemaker Protocol for Mold and Biotoxin Illness. Dr. Jen is dedicated to practicing as a partner in care with patients and families seeking preventative natural medicine for optimum lifelong health as well as those struggling to find relief from complex, chronic conditions.
She believes health and wellness in our bodies work much the same. When balance is compromised or the mind-body-spirit connection is lost, there’s often a quick decline in energy and vitality. If not corrected, imbalance often leads to the onset of more serious conditions. Dr. Jen maintains balance by spending time in nature. Her greatest treasures are her two beautiful daughters, assisting in the daily upbringing of her grandchildren, and walking with her patients’ on their healing journeys, witnessing the return of their health, wholeness, and joy.
After completing her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Jen completed a 6-month internship in immunology and autoimmune disease. From there, she was granted a one-year residency at the American Center for Biological Medicine with Dickson Thom, DDS, ND, and Jeoffrey Drobot, NMD. This inspired her passion for biological medicine, a demanding field that requires not only a very scientific mind, but also a naturally-gifted intuitive nature — a perfect fit for Dr. Jen. In pursuit of that passion, she went on to obtain certification in Swiss Biological Medicine with Dr. Thomas Rau, MD. Over her life, several of Dr. Jen’s close relatives and friends suffered negative health consequences from environmental exposures, including her best friend who battled for her life after exposure to toxic mold. It took almost 2 years before her friend was able to find a physician who could help. This physician, a Shoemaker Protocol Certified Physician, was able to restore her health, which excited and intrigued Dr. Smith as a practicing physician herself.
She went to hear Dr. Shoemaker lecture on Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), mold illness, and the biotoxin pathway. It immediately resonated and felt like the answer to a missing piece she’d witnessed in the recovery of her own patients, especially those with a Lyme Disease diagnosis. Shortly after, she became certified by Dr. Shoemaker and is now sought out for her expertise by individuals and families from across the world.
Dr. Smith is a Lyme literate physician and member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) as well as a founding Diplomate Member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI).
True to her dedication to lifelong learning, Dr. Jen is presently in the process of obtaining certification in ART with Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD and the Klinghardt Academy.
