The functional medicine route is by far the best way to go. When I met Dr. Osgood, I was 40 pounds under my ideal weight. I had struggled for 2+ years trying to gain weight, put on muscle, and feel strong again. I was also experiencing heart palpitations, and was extremely irritable. I had been a collegiate athlete, but at 28 years old was so weak I was unable to hold our newborn son for any longer than a few minutes at a time. Those tests revealed I had Graves’ Disease – an Autoimmune Hyperthyroid condition, as well as several underlying gut issues. I had no clue. Knowing exactly what was going on in my body was key for us to put a plan together to correct all the health issues I had going on. With diligence and support, following the plan we put together with Dr. Osgood, I’m overjoyed to report Graves’ Disease is now in full remission! Something my Endocrinologist originally told me would never happen. Now, I’m off all medication and have implemented several healthy lifestyle habits that will continue to benefit me and my family for years to come.
